About The Position

WM is hiring a Heavy Equipment Operator I to work at a waste disposal site in Commerce City, Colorado. The role involves operating heavy equipment, including bulldozers, scrapers, and front-end loaders, at a recycling or waste disposal facility. Operators follow established safety procedures and help move raw materials and finished components. The position offers stable hours, safety-focused work, and training and development opportunities. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with rotating Saturdays, from 11:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. The normal work setting is a shop or field environment, including a waste disposal site. The expected base pay range is $23.00–$25.00 per hour, depending on experience and other factors.

Requirements

At least 1 year of experience operating heavy equipment.
Be over 18 years of age.
Be legally eligible to work in the United States.
Be able to perform the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.
Successfully complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.
Use motor coordination and finger dexterity for tasks such as machine operation for most of the workday.
Occasionally exert physical effort handling objects weighing less than 30 pounds.
Adhere to safety guidelines and be able to work independently and problem-solve.
Communicate effectively and support colleagues.

Responsibilities

Operate heavy equipment in compliance with company operating safety policies and procedures.
Conduct routine equipment inspections and preventive maintenance, and maintain accurate records.
Move and position raw materials and finished components using material-moving equipment.
Follow standard operating procedures for operating and maintaining vehicles.
Perform other duties as assigned.
