About The Position

WM is hiring a Heavy Equipment Operator I to work at a waste disposal or recycling site in Hutto, Texas. The role involves operating heavy equipment, including bulldozers, scrapers, and front-end loaders, to support waste management and recycling operations. The position emphasizes compliance with operating safety policies and procedures, routine equipment inspections and preventative maintenance, and accurate recordkeeping. The work setting is a shop or field, with exposure to dirt, odors, noise, and weather extremes for most of the workday. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Saturday, 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Starting pay is $22.00 per hour.

Requirements

At least 1 year of experience operating heavy equipment.
Be over 18 years of age.
Be legally eligible to work in the United States.
Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.
Successfully complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.
Ability to work independently, adhere to safety guidelines, communicate with colleagues, and problem-solve independently.

Responsibilities

Operate heavy equipment in compliance with company operating safety policies and procedures.
Conduct routine equipment inspections and preventative maintenance, and maintain accurate records.
Move and position raw materials and finished components using material-moving equipment.
Follow standard operating procedures for operating and maintaining vehicles.
Perform other duties as assigned.
