About The Position

WM is hiring a Heavy Equipment Operator I to work at its waste disposal site in Maricopa, Arizona. The role operates heavy equipment, including bulldozers, scrapers, and front-end loaders, to support the company’s waste management and recycling operations. Operators work under established safety procedures and are expected to maintain equipment and follow operating guidelines. The normal work setting is a shop or field environment, with exposure to dirt, odors, noise, and weather extremes for most of the workday. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with rotating Saturdays, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The starting pay is $24.00–$26.00 per hour, depending on experience. Requirements

At least 1 year of experience operating heavy equipment.
Be over 18 years of age.
Be legally eligible to work in the United States.
Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.
Successfully complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.
Ability to work independently and problem-solve independently.
Accountability in adhering to safety guidelines.
Good communication skills and readiness to support colleagues.

Responsibilities

Operate heavy equipment in compliance with company operating safety policies and procedures.
Conduct routine equipment inspections and preventative maintenance, and maintain accurate records.
Move and position raw materials and finished components using material-moving equipment.
Follow standard operating procedures for operating and maintaining vehicles.
Perform other duties as assigned.
