Heavy Diesel Technician/Mechanic - Night shift
About The Position
Alaska Marine Trucking is hiring a full-time night-shift Mechanic in Juneau, Alaska. The role maintains heavy-duty equipment, including tractors, trailers, and forklifts, and assists with major component replacements such as hydraulic pumps, engines, and transmissions. The schedule is 3:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m., Monday through Thursday, with a $3.00 per hour shift differential. Requirements
- Must be able to apply for and be issued a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Card).
- Detail-oriented, with good communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift objects weighing up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to travel for short periods of time and work in outside weather conditions.
- Satisfactory background check and pre-employment drug screen are required for employment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain heavy-duty equipment, including tractors, trailers, and forklifts.
- Assist with major component swaps, including hydraulic pumps, engines, and transmissions.
- Perform inspections in compliance with DOT and FMCSA regulations.
- Carry out duties with a strong commitment to excellent customer service.
- Arrive at work on time and ready to work.
