About The Position

Alaska Marine Trucking, part of the Lynden family of companies, is hiring a full-time Heavy Diesel Technician/Mechanic in Juneau, Alaska. The position maintains heavy-duty equipment, including tractors, trailers, and forklifts, and assists with major component swaps such as hydraulic pumps, engines, and transmissions. The mechanic performs inspections in compliance with DOT and FMCSA regulations and must be able to apply for and be issued a TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Card). This is a night-shift role working 3:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m., Monday through Thursday. The position includes a $3.00-per-hour shift differential and ample overtime. Candidates should be committed to excellent customer service, punctual, detail-oriented, and possess good communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. The role involves physical work, exposure to moving mechanical parts and other conditions, and occasional travel for short periods.

Requirements

Must be able to apply for and be issued a TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Card).
Ability to regularly lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift objects weighing as much as 100 pounds.
Ability to travel for short periods of time.
Ability to work in outside weather conditions.
Ability to show up to work on time and ready to work.
Detail-oriented, with good communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
