About The Position

Alaska Marine Trucking, part of the Lynden family of companies, is hiring a Mechanic in Anchorage, Alaska. This full-time position maintains heavy-duty equipment, including tractors, trailers, and forklifts, and assists with major component swaps such as hydraulic pumps, engines, and transmissions. The role includes inspections in compliance with DOT and FMCSA regulations. Applicants must be able to apply for and be issued a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC). Requirements

Must be able to apply for and be issued a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Card).
Ability to show up to work on time and ready to work.
Detail-oriented, with good communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to regularly lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift objects weighing as much as 100 pounds.
Ability to travel for short periods of time and work in outside weather conditions.
Must pass a satisfactory background check and pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

Provide maintenance on heavy-duty equipment, including tractors, trailers, and forklifts.
Assist with major component swaps, including hydraulic pumps, engines, and transmissions.
Perform inspections in compliance with DOT and FMCSA regulations.
