Heavy Diesel Technician/Mechanic
About The Position
Alaska Marine Trucking, part of the Lynden family of companies, is hiring a Mechanic in Anchorage, Alaska. This full-time position maintains and repairs heavy-duty equipment, including tractors, trailers, and forklifts, and assists with major component replacements such as hydraulic pumps, engines, and transmissions. The role requires the ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) and to perform inspections in compliance with DOT and FMCSA regulations. Requirements
- Must be able to apply for and be issued a TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Card).
- Ability to show up to work on time and ready to work.
- Detail-oriented, with good communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift objects weighing as much as 100 pounds.
- Ability to travel for short periods and work in outside weather conditions.
- Satisfactory background check and pre-employment drug screen.
Responsibilities
- Maintain heavy-duty equipment, including tractors, trailers, and forklifts.
- Assist with major component swaps, including hydraulic pumps, engines, and transmissions.
- Perform inspections in compliance with DOT and FMCSA regulations.
- Carry out duties with a strong commitment to excellent customer service.
