HealthMarket Clerk
About The Position
The HealthMarket Clerk supports Hy-Vee’s HealthMarket department by keeping products fresh, the department clean and well-stocked, and customers welcomed and assisted. The role involves customer service, product replenishment and rotation, monitoring product appearance, checking in and putting away products, reviewing invoices as needed, and maintaining sanitation and organization. For homeopathic and natural wellness products, the clerk helps customers locate and access items but does not provide medical instruction or advice on product use. The clerk works with department teammates, may assist in other store areas, and may take on special projects. Training and support are provided; prior experience is not required.
Requirements
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Basic math skills, including simple addition, subtraction, counting, and recording.
- Ability to communicate clearly and helpfully with customers and teammates.
- Ability to stay organized and keep up with the pace of a busy department.
- Less than a high school diploma or equivalent is accepted.
Nice To Haves
- Up to six months of similar or related work experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide helpful customer service throughout the store.
- Help customers find products, reach items, carry heavy purchases, and relay feedback or requests to the team.
- Offer product suggestions and answer customer questions.
- Help customers locate and access homeopathic and natural wellness products without providing medical instruction or advice on product use.
- Monitor product freshness and appearance, and replenish and rotate products as needed.
- Anticipate daily product needs and follow or develop a production list.
- Check in products, put products away, and review invoices as needed.
- Follow sanitation procedures and keep the work area clean and organized.
- Remove trash promptly and maintain a tidy department.
- Work with teammates to provide a smooth, positive customer experience.
- Comply with Hy-Vee's dress code, hygiene standards, and company policies.
- Assist in other store areas and take on special projects as needed.
