HealthMarket Clerk
About The Position
As a HealthMarket Clerk at Hy-Vee, you will help maintain fresh, well-stocked products and a clean department while providing welcoming customer service. You will assist customers with locating and accessing products, offer product suggestions, answer questions, and help customers with purchases. For homeopathic and natural wellness products, you may help customers locate and access products but must not provide medical instruction or advice on product use. The position involves working actively with a team in a busy department and may include assisting in other store areas and special projects. Training and support are provided; prior experience is not required.
Requirements
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Basic math skills, including simple addition, subtraction, counting, and recording.
- Clear, friendly communication with customers and teammates.
- Ability to stay organized and keep up with the pace of a busy department.
- Less than a high school diploma or equivalent is accepted.
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.
Nice To Haves
- Up to six months of similar or related work experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide outstanding customer service throughout the store.
- Help customers find products, reach items, carry heavy purchases, and relay feedback or requests to the team.
- Offer product suggestions and answer customer questions.
- Help customers locate and access homeopathic and natural wellness products without providing medical instruction or advice about product use.
- Monitor product freshness and appearance; replenish and rotate products as needed.
- Anticipate daily product needs and follow or develop a production list.
- Check in products, put them away, and review invoices as needed.
- Follow sanitation procedures and keep the work area clean and organized.
- Remove trash promptly and maintain a tidy department.
- Work with teammates to provide a smooth, positive customer experience.
- Comply with the company dress code, hygiene standards, and policies.
- Assist in other store areas and take on special projects as needed.
