About The Position

The HealthMarket Clerk supports Hy-Vee’s HealthMarket department by keeping products fresh, the department clean and well-stocked, and customers welcomed and assisted. The role is suited to someone who enjoys staying active, working with a team, and providing helpful customer service. Prior experience is not required; training and support are provided. The clerk helps customers locate products, offers product suggestions, and answers questions. For homeopathic and natural wellness products, the clerk may help customers locate and access products but must not provide medical instruction or advice on product use. The role also includes replenishing and rotating products, anticipating daily product needs, checking in and putting away products, reviewing invoices as needed, following sanitation procedures, and maintaining an organized department. The clerk may assist in other store areas or with special projects as needed. The position involves frequent standing and walking, repetitive reaching and bending, and working in a busy environment that may include temperature changes, damp conditions, moving equipment, electrical equipment, and cleaning products or solvents. Safety training is provided. Employment is contingent upon successfully completing a pre-employment drug screen.

Requirements

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Basic math skills for simple addition, subtraction, counting, and recording.
Ability to communicate clearly and helpfully with customers and teammates.
Ability to stay organized and keep up with the pace of a busy department.
Less than a high school diploma or equivalent is accepted.
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.

Nice To Haves

Up to six months of similar or related work experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Greet customers warmly and provide outstanding customer service throughout the store.
Help customers find products, reach items, carry heavy purchases, and pass feedback or requests to the team.
Offer product suggestions and answer customer questions.
Help customers locate and access homeopathic and natural wellness products without providing medical instruction or advice on product use.
Monitor product freshness and appearance, and replenish and rotate products as needed.
Anticipate daily product needs and follow or develop a production list.
Check in products, put products away, and review invoices as needed.
Follow sanitation procedures and keep the work area clean and organized.
Remove trash promptly and maintain a tidy department.
Work with teammates to support a smooth, positive customer experience.
Follow the company dress code, hygiene standards, and policies.
Assist in other store areas and take on special projects as needed.
