Health Market Clerk
About The Position
As a HealthMarket Clerk at Hy-Vee, you will help keep products fresh, the department clean and well-stocked, and customers welcomed and cared for. The role involves staying active, working as part of a team, and helping customers have a positive experience. Prior experience is not required; training and support are provided. The position receives direction and support from the Store Director, Store Manager, Assistant Managers of Health Wellness Home, Store Operations, and Perishables, and the HealthMarket Department Manager. Employment is contingent upon successfully completing a pre-employment drug screen.
Requirements
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Basic math skills, including simple addition, subtraction, counting, and recording.
- Ability to communicate clearly and helpfully with customers and teammates.
- Ability to stay organized and keep up with the pace of a busy department.
- Less than a high school diploma or equivalent is accepted.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen is required.
Nice To Haves
- Up to six months of similar or related work experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide outstanding customer service throughout the store.
- Help customers find products, reach items, carry heavy purchases, and relay feedback or requests to the team.
- Offer product suggestions and answer customer questions.
- Help customers locate and access homeopathic and natural wellness products without providing medical instruction or advice on product use.
- Monitor product freshness and appearance; replenish and rotate products as needed.
- Anticipate daily product needs and follow or develop a production list.
- Check in and put away products, and review invoices as needed.
- Follow sanitation procedures and keep the work area clean and organized.
- Remove trash promptly and maintain a tidy department.
- Work with teammates to provide a smooth, positive customer experience.
- Comply with the dress code, hygiene standards, and company policies.
- Assist in other store areas and take on special projects as needed.
