About The Position

As a HealthMarket Clerk at Hy-Vee, you help keep products fresh, the department clean and well-stocked, and customers welcomed and cared for. The role involves active work in a busy department and collaboration with teammates to make the customer experience positive. Training and support are provided; prior experience is not required. The position is accountable to the Store Director, Store Manager, Assistant Managers of Health Wellness Home, Store Operations, and Perishables, and the HealthMarket Department Manager. Employment is contingent upon successfully completing a pre-employment drug screen.

Requirements

• Follow written and verbal instructions.
• Use basic math for simple addition, subtraction, counting, and recording.
• Communicate clearly and helpfully with customers and teammates.
• Stay organized and keep up with the pace of a busy department.
• Less than a high school diploma or equivalent is accepted.
• Complete a pre-employment drug screen successfully.

Nice To Haves

• Up to six months of similar or related work experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and provide outstanding customer service throughout the store.
• Help customers find products, reach items, and carry heavy purchases; share customer feedback or requests with the team.
• Offer product suggestions and answer customer questions.
• Help customers locate and access homeopathic and natural wellness products without giving medical instruction or advice about product use.
• Monitor product freshness and appearance; replenish and rotate products as needed.
• Anticipate daily product needs and follow or develop a production list.
• Check in products, put products away, and review invoices as needed.
• Follow sanitation procedures and keep the work area clean and organized.
• Remove trash promptly and maintain a tidy department.
• Work with teammates to provide a smooth, positive customer experience.
• Follow the company dress code, hygiene standards, and policies.
• Assist in other store areas and take on special projects as needed.
