About The Position

Provides clinical services to patients, such as immunizations and medication therapy management (MTM) interventions, while ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines and company policies and procedures. The pharmacist engages with patients, helps resolve their questions and issues, and promotes awareness of Walgreens healthcare services. The role also supports safe prescription filling, maintains required licensure and credentials, and keeps pharmacy and healthcare knowledge current.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or a pharmacist degree from an accredited educational institution.
• Current pharmacist licensure in the states within the district.
• Certified immunizer, or willingness to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, offer assistance with products and services, answer questions, and resolve patient issues in a timely manner.
• Model and share patient-service best practices with team members to provide a distinctive and positive patient experience.
• Anticipate patient needs and proactively offer services, including consultations, medication management, drug therapy reviews, immunizations, diagnostic testing, and patient-outcomes services.
• Provide clinical services such as immunizations and MTM interventions in compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies and procedures.
• Apply the elements of the Good Faith Dispensing policy alongside state and federal controlled-substance laws when filling prescriptions.
• Maintain current knowledge and required licensing, credentialing, and certification for clinical services.
• Keep pharmacy and healthcare knowledge current through relevant journals, company publications, and communications; stay aware of retail and management developments and pursue applicable best practices.
• Complete required certifications, continuing education credits, training, and company learning modules.
