About The Position

Provides clinical services to patients, such as immunizations and medication therapy management (MTM) interventions, while ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines and company policies and procedures. The role supports a positive patient experience by engaging with patients, responding to questions and concerns, anticipating needs, and raising awareness of Walgreens healthcare services.

The pharmacist follows Good Faith Dispensing requirements and applicable state and federal controlled-substance laws when filling prescriptions. The role also requires keeping pharmacy knowledge, licensure, credentials, certifications, and skills current through professional reading, required training, education credits, and certifications.

Requirements

• BS in Pharmacy or a pharmacist degree from an accredited educational institution.
• Current pharmacist licensure in the states within the district.
• Certified Immunizer or willing to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Engage patients, greet them, offer assistance with products and services, answer questions, and resolve patient issues in a timely manner.
• Model and share patient-service practices that contribute to a distinctive and positive patient experience, including courtesy, empathy, inclusivity, and proactive assistance.
• Anticipate patients’ needs and proactively offer services.
• Promote awareness and use of Walgreens healthcare services, including patient consultations, medication management, drug therapy reviews, immunizations, diagnostic testing, and patient outcomes services.
• Provide clinical services such as immunizations and MTM interventions in compliance with regulatory guidelines and company policies and procedures.
• Ensure use of all elements of the Good Faith Dispensing policy, along with compliance with state and federal controlled-substance laws, when filling prescriptions.
• Maintain current knowledge and required licensing, credentialing, and certification to provide clinical services.
• Keep pharmacy and healthcare knowledge current by reading relevant journals, company publications, and communications.
• Maintain awareness of developments in retail and management and pursue practices that enhance performance.
• Obtain required certifications, education credits, and company training, including learning modules.
