About The Position

The Healthcare Services Pharmacist provides clinical services to patients, including immunizations and medication therapy management (MTM) interventions, while following regulatory guidelines and company policies and procedures. The role focuses on a positive patient experience, promoting Walgreens healthcare services, and ensuring appropriate prescription review and dispensing practices.

The pharmacist maintains current knowledge, licensing, credentials, and certifications required to provide clinical services. They also keep their pharmacy and healthcare knowledge current through professional publications, company communications, training, and continuing education.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or a pharmacist degree from an accredited educational institution.
• Current pharmacist licensure in the states within the district.
• Certified immunizer or willingness to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Engage patients, offer assistance with products and services, and resolve issues or answer questions in a timely manner.
• Model patient-service best practices, including courteous and empathetic interactions, identifying patient needs, and helping patients until their needs are met.
• Anticipate patient needs and proactively offer services.
• Increase patient awareness of Walgreens healthcare services, including consultations, medication management, drug therapy reviews, immunizations, diagnostic testing, and patient outcomes services.
• Provide clinical services such as immunizations and MTM interventions in compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies and procedures.
• Apply the Good Faith Dispensing policy alongside state and federal controlled-substance laws when filling prescriptions.
• Maintain current knowledge and required licensing, credentialing, and certifications for providing clinical services.
• Keep pharmacy and healthcare knowledge and skills current by reading relevant journals, company publications, and communications.
• Maintain awareness of retail and management developments and pursue practices that enhance performance.
• Complete required certifications, education credits, training, and company learning modules.
