Healthcare Industry Reporter and Storyteller
About The Position
Tennr is seeking a Healthcare Industry Reporter and Storyteller to join their marketing team. This role is responsible for providing novel, useful information and analysis to various audiences within the healthcare industry. The ideal candidate will possess journalistic curiosity, spending significant time interviewing industry professionals, researching, understanding, and distilling complex information to craft compelling stories. While technically content marketing, the focus is solely on creating value for the audience, not direct selling. This role is akin to a feature writer position within a SaaS company, with support for design, distribution, and web development, but full ownership of the content's substance and results. The company emphasizes a fast-paced environment and seeks a candidate who can 'hustle and keep up.'
Requirements
- A writer who’s obsessed with craft and clarity
- An experienced journalist with at least 3 years’ experience at a newspaper, industry publication, or other media company
- A curious person who needs to know the whole story and who isn’t afraid to do truly deep research
- A college graduate, or someone with enough additional comparable journalism experience to replace the degree
- Someone who thinks it’s rude to expect audiences to read AI-generated work
- Prior reporting experience (or other work experience) has focused on some aspect of healthcare, especially through the lens of business
Responsibilities
- Identify stories and opportunities for Tennr to produce helpful material for our audiences
- Research topics and interview sources to thoroughly understand the situation and information you’re writing about
- Deliver content across news, educational resources, data storytelling, industry analysis, or market analysis
- Help support Tennr’s content needs outside of your core storytelling responsibilities, including running occasional webinars and helping prepare speakers for talks at conferences
- Join us in-person four days a week at our spacious office in Hudson Square (with the fifth day remote-optional)
