About The Position

Horizon Middle School East Campus is seeking a Grade 7-8 Health Education Teacher. This role, under the direction of Building Administration, involves developing and supporting curriculum, facilitating instruction, and assessing student progress. The teacher will collaborate with colleagues, administrators, parents, and counselors on student needs, district initiatives, and curriculum development. Responsibilities include delivering classroom instruction, planning and developing lessons and assessments aligned with the curriculum and district priorities, and managing the classroom environment. Collaboration with other educational professionals regarding student and instructional needs, new technologies, and problem-solving approaches is also a key aspect of this position.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education in assigned field
• Current Minnesota teaching license required and/or the ability to obtain in the assigned area of responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Develops and supports curriculum in assigned instructional subjects.
• Facilitates instruction and evaluates student progress against instructional outcomes and objectives.
• Participates and collaborates with other instructional professionals, administrators, parents, counselors, and other district personnel concerning student needs, issues, and district learning initiatives, curriculum and building issues.
• Provides and delivers classroom instruction to students incorporating the essential elements of instruction.
• Plans and develops instruction and assessment in alignment with approved curriculum and district strategic priorities.
• Establishes and maintains management in the classroom, school premises or during school activities by communicating expectations.
• Collaborates with educational professionals and administrators regarding the needs of students, instructional needs, new instructional technologies or approaches to student problems, learning or curriculum.
