About The Position

Dime Commercial Bank is hiring a Head Teller for its Huntington Branch in Long Island. The Head Teller provides guidance, supervision, and support to new and existing tellers within the branch. The position pays $20 to $25 per hour; the exact pay may vary based on skills, experience, training, licenses or certifications, language necessities, and location. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Cash-handling experience.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Thorough understanding of compliance and record-keeping requirements.

Nice To Haves

• Prior supervisory experience.
• At least two years of retail banking experience.
• Advanced experience with PC, network, e-mail, Director, Internet, word processing, spreadsheets, and transaction research.

Responsibilities

• Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, money orders, cash advances, and cashier’s checks.
• Order, ship, and provide cash to the branch, and receive vault money for the branch and ATM.
• Perform administrative and supervisory duties as designated, such as handling over-and-short general ledger accounts and cash items.
• Ensure the teller line runs efficiently and tellers follow bank policies and procedures for money handling, cash levels, transaction processing, and controls.
• Support branch business-development goals by referring customers to platform staff.
• Coach and mentor tellers in making platform referrals.
• Schedule teller staff depending on the needs of the branch.
