About The Position

Dime Commercial Bank is hiring a Head Teller for its Locust Valley Branch in Long Island. The Head Teller provides guidance, supervision, and support to new and existing tellers. The role also processes customer transactions, handles branch cash and vault funds, performs administrative and supervisory duties, ensures teller-line compliance with bank policies and procedures, and supports the branch’s business development goals through customer referrals.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Cash-handling experience required.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Thorough understanding of compliance and record-keeping requirements.

Nice To Haves

• Prior supervisory experience preferred.
• At least 2 years of retail banking experience preferred.
• Advanced PC, network, e-mail, Director, internet, word processing, spreadsheet, and transaction research experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, money orders, cash advances, and cashier’s checks.
• Order and ship cash, provide cash to the branch, and receive vault money for the branch and ATM.
• Perform administrative and supervisory duties as designated, such as handling over-and-short GLs and cash items.
• Ensure the teller line runs efficiently and that tellers follow bank policies and procedures for money handling, cash levels, transaction processing, and controls.
• Support branch business development goals by referring customers to platform staff.
• Coach and mentor tellers in making platform referrals.
• Schedule teller staff depending on the needs of the branch.
