About The Position

Dime Commercial Bank (Dime) is hiring a Head Teller for its Locust Valley Branch in Long Island. The Head Teller provides guidance, supervision, and support to new and existing tellers within the branch. The hourly wage range is $20 to $25; exact pay may vary based on skills, experience, training, licenses or certifications, language necessities, and location. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Cash-handling experience required.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Thorough understanding of compliance and record-keeping requirements.

Nice To Haves

• Prior supervisory experience preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of retail banking experience preferred.
• Advanced PC, Network, E-Mail, Director, Internet, Word Processing, Spreadsheet, and Transaction Research experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, money orders, cash advances, and cashier’s checks.
• Order, ship, and provide cash for the branch, and receive vault money for the branch and ATM.
• Perform designated administrative and supervisory duties, such as handling over-and-short GLs and Cash Items.
• Ensure the teller line runs efficiently and that tellers follow bank policies and procedures for money handling, cash levels, transaction processing, and controls.
• Support branch business development goals by referring customers to platform staff.
• Coach and mentor tellers in making platform referrals.
• Schedule teller staff depending on the needs of the branch.
