Head of Software Product Management
About The Position
Formlabs is seeking a Head of Software Product Management to lead and execute their software roadmap. This role involves shaping the user experience of their 3D printing products and overseeing all aspects of Software Product Management. The company's software portfolio includes Firmware/UI for their 3D printers, Desktop software (Preform), IoT capabilities (Dashboard), and industry-specific workflow integrations for manufacturing, dental, and other sectors. The ideal candidate will be customer-obsessed and forward-thinking, contributing to Formlabs' mission of enabling innovation through accessible 3D printing technology.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in a product management role.
- Previous experience leading a team with 5+ direct reports.
- Drive processes forward and have a bias for action.
- Enable your team to do their best work.
Nice To Haves
- Preferably have a computer science or embedded engineering background.
- Started a company/new product from scratch before.
- Experience scaling teams.
- Track record of leading high performing teams.
- Experience in B2B tech space.
Responsibilities
- Lead the team through the full product life cycle; from conception, through development, to launch and commercialization.
- Impact decision making inside and outside of the software engineering realm, collaborating with leaders from different disciplines.
- Understand the user through research and competitive analysis, anticipating market needs and identifying gaps where Formlabs can excel.
- Serve as a product thought leader and subject matter expert for the company.
- Mentor and develop existing team members of product managers.
- Prioritize hiring and identify top talent for the team.
- Navigate ambiguity to develop a roadmap, comfortable with building novel solutions.
