Head of Product

Novellia
•$175,000 - $250,000

About The Position

Novellia is seeking a seasoned Head of Product to own and scale its product function at the intersection of healthcare and consumer products. The role will build on the company’s existing product foundation and help grow the organization as Novellia advances through Series B and beyond, while preserving its close, trust-based collaboration between product and engineering. Reporting directly to the CTO and serving on the leadership team, the Head of Product will own product and product design end to end, including strategy, roadmap, team building, and execution. This is a hands-on leadership role: the successful candidate will set direction, make decisions, and ship products while building the organization around them. They will partner with the founding team and senior leaders, and represent product in board conversations, partner discussions, and recruiting. During the first 6–12 months, success includes developing a deep understanding of Novellia’s users, market, and healthcare and consumer products; refining product strategy with the founding team; building the product organization ahead of its needs; improving product and design ways of working; delivering a meaningful product initiative; and becoming a trusted thought partner to the CTO, CEO, and Commercial team.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of product experience, including meaningful time at early-stage or high-growth companies.
  • Deep consumer product experience and understanding of how to build products users love and return to.
  • Experience finding product-market fit, including making and testing bets in situations where the product direction was unclear.
  • Proven ability to grow and lead a product organization.
  • Experience owning product design as well as product management.
  • Track record of hiring and developing strong product managers and designers in early-stage environments.
  • Strong design sensibility and ability to distinguish good product design from great design.
  • Direct, clear communication skills and ability to operate at executive level while retaining attention to detail.
  • High ownership mindset and ability to identify and address work without being asked.
  • Ability to operate amid ambiguity, changing priorities, and the pace of a fast-growing Series A company.
  • Ability to earn engineers’ respect, understand how products are built, and collaborate effectively with engineering.
  • Proactive approach to organizational structure, hiring, and team health.
  • Healthcare experience is not required; it is identified as a strong plus.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience shipping products in real-world evidence, health data, or biopharma-adjacent contexts.
  • Familiarity with health data standards and ecosystems such as FHIR, CCDA, claims data, or EHR/EMR integrations.
  • Experience in a data-as-product environment, where data is sold and must be shaped into something customers can buy and trust.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the founders to define and pressure-test where Novellia can win across healthcare and consumer markets.
  • Translate product strategy into a prioritized roadmap and clearly explain the reasoning behind priorities.
  • Decide what not to build and when to stop pursuing initiatives that are not working.
  • Represent product in board conversations, partner discussions, and recruiting.
  • Own the full product development process from discovery through delivery.
  • Set a high bar for product quality and design craft.
  • Partner closely with Engineering to ship reliably while maintaining speed.
  • Maintain direct contact with users and customers and personally participate in learning from them.
  • Hire, develop, and retain a strong product and design team as the company scales.
  • Build a culture of rigor, craft, and accountability to outcomes.
  • Develop team members and create an environment where product managers and designers can do their best work.
  • Develop a deep understanding of Novellia’s users, market, and current products across healthcare and consumer surfaces.
  • Build on existing product strategy and make it clear and compelling across the company.
  • Plan the product organization’s structure and hiring proactively.
  • Evolve product and design ways of working to support rigorous, fast shipping as the team grows.
  • Own and deliver a meaningful product bet that moves a real outcome.
  • Serve as a thought partner to the CTO, CEO, and Commercial team on product direction.
