Head of Sales

Mira Mace•San Francisco, CA

About The Position

Mira Mace is hiring a founding Head of Sales to drive growth and build the company’s commercial organization alongside the CEO. Mira Mace pairs Medicare beneficiaries with dedicated healthcare advocates who coordinate care, appointments, insurance, and claims, with Medicare and Medicaid covering the cost. The company has generated annualized revenue through physician referrals and is expanding its care provider team to meet demand. The Head of Sales will own revenue and initially carry the number personally, developing target accounts and closing partnerships across specialty practices, hospital health systems, skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), long-term acute care hospitals (LTACs), and home health agencies. The role will shape the sales strategy and infrastructure, turn referral relationships into contracted programs, build referral adoption into customers’ workflows, and hire and coach future sellers. The Head of Sales will also contribute commercial insight to company strategy and product development and represent the company with investors and the board. This is a founding leadership opportunity for someone who has built sales at an early-stage healthcare company, remains effective as a hands-on seller, and wants to lead a growing organization. Compensation includes variable pay tied to referral volume and meaningful early equity. The company describes the compensation as competitive but does not provide a salary range.

Requirements

  • Experience building sales at an early-stage healthcare company and staying through its growth; may have been a first sales hire or advanced from sales representative to sales leadership.
  • Track record of quota-carrying, full-cycle sales to provider organizations such as specialty practices, hospitals, health systems, SNFs, or home health agencies.
  • Personally closed meaningful deals within the past two years, in addition to managing sellers.
  • Ability to explain personal sales targets and results and the company's growth during their tenure.
  • Experience driving adoption and recurring referrals, not only obtaining signed agreements.
  • Experience hiring and developing sellers who meet their targets, and judgment about when to hire versus continue selling personally.
  • Ability to build sales infrastructure, including ICP definition, pain mapping, pitch and deck narrative, stage definitions, and customer journey.
  • Ability to sell based on provider outcomes such as rehospitalization, appointment adherence, prior authorization burden, and case manager and administrator workload.
  • Ability to handle challenging questions from health system leadership and investors while maintaining a clear pitch.
  • Willingness to have variable compensation tied to referral volume rather than closed logos.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building and scaling sales at a remote patient monitoring, chronic care management, care navigation, or healthcare AI company with a usage- or volume-based revenue model.
  • Experience running sales motions for both mid-size practices and enterprise health systems.
  • Experience building a partnerships or referral program that generated a meaningful share of revenue.
  • Experience working with a field liaison team and converting field relationships into contracts.
  • EHR integration experience sufficient to assess when integration is worth pursuing.

Responsibilities

  • Own revenue targets, develop the sales plan, and personally carry the number until a sales team is in place.
  • Sell directly across mid-size specialty practices, hospital health systems, and associated SNFs, LTACs, and home health agencies—from account targeting and initial meetings through signed partnerships and live referral volume.
  • Select target specialties and account types, identify their specific pain points, and develop the pitch and target personas for each.
  • Convert referral relationships developed by the liaison team into contracted, top-down programs with practice owners, CEOs, or service line leaders.
  • Build the sales infrastructure, including ideal customer profiles, stage definitions, pipeline reporting, forecasting, and compensation plans for future sellers.
  • Determine when to hire additional sellers, recruit them, and coach them to meet their targets.
  • Work with case managers, discharge planners, and practice administrators, supported by success and engineering teams, to embed Mira Mace in daily workflows through the portal or EHR.
  • Bring commercial insights into company strategy and product development and represent the company alongside the founder with investors and the board.

Benefits

  • Meaningful early equity and real ownership in the company.
  • Competitive compensation with variable compensation tied to referral volume.
  • A founding leadership seat with a path to build and lead the commercial organization as it grows.
  • Support from the founder, including co-pitching and help unblocking engineering for integrations.
