Head of Sales

Doppler
•$275,000 - $340,000

About The Position

Doppler is hiring a full-time Head of Sales & Customer Success to own its commercial strategy and managed sales motion for its Enterprise plan. The role is accountable for the managed-sales revenue lifecycle, from landing new customers to expanding accounts through direct sales and channel partners. The position leads new-logo sales (AEs and SDRs), sales engineering, channel sales, and customer success, including account management, renewals, and expansions. The leader will coach the team, set and refine strategy, and scale the function, reporting directly to the CEO and serving on Doppler’s leadership team. Doppler is a developer-first secrets management platform that helps engineering and security teams securely manage secrets across cloud infrastructure and deployment environments. The managed sales team uses MEDDPICC, expects strong CRM hygiene, and closely tracks performance. The company describes its culture as entrepreneurial, action-oriented, collaborative, low-ego, documentation-focused, and supportive of employees setting their own hours, with a default of zero meetings. This is an opportunity to shape the company while it is still small, with authority to make decisions and equity in the business. The role spans mid-market and enterprise sales, with an emphasis on larger mid-market accounts.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of sales leadership experience at a high-growth SaaS company, leading AEs and SDRs.
  • A track record of carrying and achieving a team number in enterprise software sales, with the ability to explain how results were achieved.
  • A player-coach who can work on live deals and lead forecast calls with the board.
  • Experience selling software to technical buyers and demonstrating the value of adopting new products.
  • Fluency in developer tools, DevOps, infrastructure, or security products; an engineering background is not required.
  • MEDDPICC training and the ability to apply it consistently, with attention to detail in deal management.
  • Strong process-building and operational skills, including territory planning, sales process mapping, CRM changes, and commission planning.
  • Comfort managing a sales motion across mid-market and enterprise, balancing velocity and deal size, with a mix that leans toward larger mid-market accounts.
  • A proven ability to build pipeline through outbound sales.
  • Inclusive leadership skills, with the ability to coach, empower, and inspire teams while fostering a collaborative, high-trust culture.
  • Ownership, urgency, resilience, creativity, and a results-oriented approach.
  • Coachability, curiosity, and openness to feedback.

  • Coach the team on strategic qualification, value framing, navigating multiple stakeholders, and contract negotiation.
  • Serve as executive sponsor on strategic deals, presenting to senior customer stakeholders and building trusted relationships.
  • Own the forecast by monitoring productivity, conversion, retention, and rep capacity, and ensuring MEDDPICC is used consistently to qualify opportunities.
