Head of Provider Partnerships

Mindful Health Solutions

About The Position

The Head of Provider Partnerships leads the provider partnerships team and owns provider referrals as a channel for generating interventional treatment starts across 27 clinics in California, Washington, Texas, New York, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Missouri. The role turns a recently merged team into a disciplined, data-driven referral engine by setting strategy, designing compensation, managing the pipeline, coaching team members, and sourcing and negotiating partnerships. The team includes seven field representatives and managers, with planned growth to 12 or more. The role is accountable for referral targets by market and segment, with an emphasis on kept intakes and interventional treatment starts rather than referral volume alone. It develops data-informed targeting strategies, runs CRM-based pipeline reviews, reports to the executive team and board, and uses AI tools and public data for account research and call preparation. It also owns the referral experience in partnership with Care Navigation, partnership activation and growth, the business development budget, and coordination with Field Marketing, legal, and compliance.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of healthcare sales or business development experience.
  • At least 3 years managing a distributed field team across multiple markets.
  • Track record of building physician and provider referral networks in behavioral health, specialty care, or another high-acuity service line.
  • Experience designing and changing a sales compensation plan and managing the team through the change.
  • Experience negotiating provider partnerships, including referral, co-marketing, or services agreements with practices, programs, health systems, or digital health platforms.
  • Fluency in referral pathways among primary care, psychiatry, inpatient and step-down care, and specialty treatment.
  • Comfort managing a team using CRM data and making targeting decisions based on data; HubSpot is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of compliance boundaries for referral relationships, including the Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark, and state fee-splitting rules, sufficient to partner effectively with legal.
  • Willingness to travel regularly to company markets.

Nice To Haves

  • Referral sales experience in TMS, SPRAVATO®/esketamine, ketamine, ECT, or interventional psychiatry.
  • Experience selling to inpatient psychiatric units, PHP/IOP programs, or ACOs.
  • HubSpot experience.

Responsibilities

  • Own provider-referral targets by market and segment for interventional treatment starts, and deliver against them.
  • Manage, hire, coach, set territories for, and oversee the performance of a field team of seven representatives and managers, planned to grow to 12 or more.
  • Build referral-source targeting strategies using conversion data, and revise them as data changes.
  • Design a quality-weighted incentive plan that rewards kept intakes and interventional starts, avoids all-or-nothing cliffs, and is suitable for compliance review.
  • Own the referral experience end to end with Care Navigation: acknowledge referrals within one business day, update referring providers at intake and treatment start, and share progress where consent and privacy rules allow.
  • Make the CRM the team's single system of record; run weekly pipeline reviews by representative, source, and market; and report to the executive team and board.
  • Use AI tools and public data, such as prescriber-volume data, for account research, targeting, and call preparation.
  • Source, negotiate, and manage referral and co-marketing partnerships with practices, programs, health systems, and digital mental health platforms, in collaboration with legal and compliance.
  • Take on risk-bearing and other complex deals negotiated by the Chief Commercial Officer and turn partnerships into steady referral flow.
  • Work with Field Marketing on events, collateral, and local presence, and ensure representatives can clearly and accurately explain TMS, SPRAVATO®, IV ketamine, other treatments, and appropriate patient populations.
  • Own the business development budget, including events and conferences; measure referrals and starts generated and cut ineffective spending.
  • Travel regularly to the company's markets.
