About The Position

This is a remote opportunity with travel to Sydney as required for a strategic and operational People and Culture position. The role involves shaping the culture of Australia’s leading research organisation focused on ending violence against women and children. ANROWS is entering a new phase of growth and evolution with a refreshed strategy, evolving workforce needs, and organizational change underway. The Head of People and Culture will help establish the foundations to support the organization into its next chapter. Reporting to the Chief of Staff and working as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, this position will be a trusted advisor to the CEO, Executives, and leaders across the organization. The role will lead both strategic and operational People & Culture outcomes while establishing the systems, frameworks, processes, and practices required for a high-performing and sustainable organization. This role offers a rare opportunity to influence organizational culture, workforce strategy, leadership capability, and employee experience while shaping the People & Culture function for years to come.

Requirements

  • Significant experience in senior People & Culture or Human Resources leadership roles
  • Strong expertise in organisational development, workforce planning and change management
  • Sound knowledge of Australian employment law, industrial relations and compliance frameworks
  • Experience building or strengthening people systems, frameworks and processes
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
  • Strong resilience, judgement and emotional intelligence
  • Experience supporting leaders through complex workforce and cultural challenges
  • A collaborative, hands-on and solutions-focused approach
  • Ability to hold complexity, remain focused through ambiguity and help create clarity

  • Leading ANROWS’ People & Culture strategy and workforce planning
  • Strengthening organisational culture, engagement and leadership capability

  • Leading employee and industrial relations matters
  • Supporting workforce capability, retention and succession planning
  • Driving psychosocial safety, wellbeing and trauma-informed practice
  • Overseeing organisational development initiatives, remuneration frameworks and workforce planning
  • Providing strategic workforce advice and insights to the Executive and Board
