About The Position
The Riverdale School District is seeking a Head Coach for the 5th/6th Grade Girls Basketball program. This limited-term coaching position runs from November 2026 to February 2027. The coach will be responsible for overseeing all facets of the youth program, acting as a role model for student-athletes, and fostering a positive athletic environment. The position reports to the Athletic Director and has a starting salary of $3,651.80.
Requirements
- High ethical and professional standards.
- Complete OSAA Coaching Certifications
- NFHS/ASEP Certification
- First Aid Card (CPR and AED trained)
- District Fingerprinting/Criminal Check
Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of the program, including training, practice schedules, and routines.
- Hire and oversee assistant coaches as needed.
- Provide regular communication with parents/families.
- Track the academic progress of all student-athletes in the program and facilitate necessary support to ensure their academic eligibility.
- Cooperate with other school-sponsored sports and encourage athletes to compete in other programs.
- Develop and implement an off-season program for athletics.
- Lead student-athletes in the support of other Riverdale School District athletics and activities.
- Be a role model for student-athletes.
- Lead a successful program and oversee all facets of a community youth program.
