About The Position
Dansville Schools is seeking an 7th Grade Girls’ Basketball Coach for the 2026-2027 school year. This role is responsible for teaching basketball skills and collaborating with the Varsity Coach to develop a robust program. The coach will focus on supporting student achievement by fostering skills, discipline, sportsmanship, teamwork, work ethic, and self-esteem. The ideal candidate will recognize the significant positive impact of athletics on the educational development of student-athletes.
Requirements
- High School Graduate
- Experience playing/teaching basketball skills
Nice To Haves
- Post-secondary training preferred
- CPR/AED/First Aid Certification preferred
- CAP 1 or 2 training preferred
Responsibilities
- Teach basketball skills
- Work with the Varsity Coach to build a strong program
- Support student achievement
- Help each participating student achieve a high level of skill
- Instill an appreciation for the values of discipline, sportsmanship, teamwork, work ethic, and an increased level of self-esteem
- Understand the positive effects athletics has on the education of student-athletes
