About The Position

The Lead is responsible for tracking the necessary paperwork and changes associated with live receiving, including growers, grower changes, picking up paperwork at the live scale, and transferring information to appropriate reporting forms. They must keep eviscerating and shipping departments aware of the birds being run. The Lead must be able to give breaks to live hangers, prepare the work area, and retrieve needed supplies. They should have the knowledge and experience to provide breaks to other team members as needed and be able to place and move team members on the line as required. Additionally, the Lead will assist supervisors and management with day-to-day line personnel and paperwork, including grower changes. They must be able to alert supervisors and management when problems arise and communicate properly and efficiently with USDA personnel.

Requirements

  • Must be able to read, write and have a basic knowledge of math.
  • Must possess and utilize good communication skills.
  • Must have valid driver’s license.
  • Lock-out/Tag-out certified.
  • Good previous work and attendance record.
  • Willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be able to maneuver freely throughout the plant.
  • Must be able to climb stairs to get to and from work areas.
  • Must be able to tolerate walking, standing for duration of shift.
  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds plus.
  • Must be able to use hands, lifting, bending, twisting.
  • Must be able to use knives and scissors if required.
