About The Position

The Hardware Sales Associate processes and stocks products, builds and fills displays, receives customer or Associate payments for goods and services, and provides friendly, genuine customer care. The role supports store sales by helping customers with project needs and resolving concerns promptly. It also includes register and other service transactions, answering calls, completing assigned activities, and helping maintain and clean the store. This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Position requirements may vary by store location, and management may add to or change them.

Requirements

Some hardware knowledge.
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to present information and respond to questions from customers or Associates.
Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
Friendly demeanor, good people skills, good organizational skills, and quick reaction and response time.

Responsibilities

Acknowledge customers, assist with project needs, and resolve concerns promptly to support store sales.
Process and stock deliveries and back stock.
Build and fill displays.
Scan products and process customer orders accurately, efficiently, and promptly.
Handle all forms of tender and coupons properly.
Process and be accountable for other services handled at the register.
Answer incoming phone calls using proper phone etiquette.
Perform assigned fixed activities.
Assist with store maintenance and cleaning.
Follow store and department policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
