About The Position

The ACE Hardware Sales Associate processes and stocks products, builds and fills displays, and receives customer payments for goods or services while providing quick, friendly, and genuine customer care. The role supports store sales by acknowledging customers, helping meet their project needs, and promptly resolving concerns. The associate also handles customer orders and register services, answers incoming calls, performs assigned activities, and helps maintain and clean the store. This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Some hardware knowledge is expected; required certifications, licenses, or registrations are not specified.

Requirements

Some hardware knowledge.
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to present information and respond to questions from customers or associates.
Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
Friendly manner, excellent people skills, good organizational skills, and quick reaction/response time.

Responsibilities

Drive store sales by acknowledging customers, meeting their project needs, and quickly resolving concerns.
Process and stock deliveries and back stock.
Build and fill displays.
Accurately, efficiently, and promptly scan products and process customer orders.
Handle all forms of tender and coupons properly.
Process and remain accountable for other services handled at the register.
Answer incoming phone calls using proper phone etiquette.
Perform fixed activities as assigned.
Assist with store maintenance and cleaning.
Follow store and department policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
