Hardware Sales Associate [JBR]
About The Position
JAX Outdoor Gear, Farm & Ranch is seeking a part-time Hardware Sales Associate for its Broomfield, Colorado location. The associate shares knowledge of tools, paint, and hardware with customers, provides excellent service, and helps customers find products suited to repair and home improvement projects. Product training, pro-deals, and an employee discount are offered to help associates build product knowledge. Sales Associates greet customers, answer questions honestly and informatively, suggest products, and complete tasks that support efficient department operations. They stock shelves, assist the Department Manager, and share customer feedback with Department Managers and the Buyers Team. The position requires weekend availability; open availability is preferred. The hourly pay range is $15.16 to $16.25. One part-time position is available.
Requirements
- Previous knowledge of or retail experience with hardware, repairs, or paint is required.
- Computer proficiency is required.
- Must be available to work weekends.
- Prior customer service experience is identified as ideal.
- Ability and willingness to pitch in where needed.
- Works well with others.
- Organizational skills.
- Engaging and positive demeanor.
- Attention to detail.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge about brands carried by JAX is preferred.
- Cashiering experience is desired.
- Open availability is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and provide excellent, engaging customer service.
- Answer customer questions honestly and informatively and suggest relevant products.
- Stock shelves and help maintain a clean, well-stocked department.
- Assist the Department Manager with department operations.
- Share customer feedback with Department Managers and the Buyers Team.
- Process payments accurately.
- Assist with visual merchandising.
- Complete record-keeping tasks and contribute to reports.
- Learn about products to answer customer questions more effectively.
- Assist with loss prevention efforts.
- Communicate professionally and maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
- Support teamwork and develop positive working relationships with co-workers.
- Assist with inventory responsibilities.
