The Merchandiser works independently in assigned retail stores to maintain and showcase Hallmark products, build relationships with retailer teams, and represent Hallmark. The role includes restocking, organizing, and monitoring inventory; maintaining the entire Hallmark product display; using a Hallmark-provided mobile device for merchandising tasks and communications; and collaborating with store employees, management, customers, and other merchandisers. Stores may include grocery, drug, department, and mass retailers. The role may occasionally involve servicing products from other companies in assigned stores. The position averages 6–11 hours per week with a variable schedule during the work week. Work may increase around holidays and seasonal changes, including extended hours, weekends, and in some cases the holiday itself. Assignments may also include department resets, installations, fixture construction, and relocating or resetting card departments, sometimes during evenings or weekends. Remodel assignments are typically communicated two weeks in advance. The job is physically demanding and involves working on sales floors and in back stockrooms. It requires frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of merchandise and fixtures, along with standing, walking, kneeling, and squatting, and may involve stairs and step ladders. Starting pay is $15.00–$17.00 per hour, depending on skills and experience. Paid training is provided through hands-on instruction and virtual classroom training. Eligible employees receive annual pay increases, and part-time employees scheduled for fewer than 30 hours may access voluntary benefits.
