About The Position
FOX Rehabilitation is hiring licensed Physical Therapist Assistants to provide hands-on care to older adults in Muscatine, Iowa, and surrounding communities. Using FOX’s Geriatric House Calls™ model, PTAs work in patients’ homes and senior living communities, carrying out individualized treatment plans established by a supervising Physical Therapist. The role involves guiding patients through therapeutic exercises and functional activities to help restore strength, mobility, confidence, and independence. PTAs spend one-on-one time with patients and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team that includes Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, and Fitness Specialists. The position offers mentorship from a supervising PT and opportunities to grow clinical skills, caseload, and career. FOX lists full-time, part-time, and PRN/FOX Flex employment pathways; benefits eligibility varies by role and, for part-time work, minimum-hours requirements. Requirements
- Valid Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state(s) of practice, or eligibility to obtain one.
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Current CPR certification.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to meet the listed physical demands of in-home and community-based care, including lifting, performing CPR, assisting with patient transfers and bed mobility, and extensive walking.
- Ability to drive to patient homes and senior living communities as part of the Geriatric House Calls™ model.
- Wear personal protective equipment when required.
Responsibilities
- Deliver individualized treatment plans established by the supervising Physical Therapist, adjusting activities based on patient response and progress.
- Instruct, motivate, and safeguard patients during therapeutic exercises and functional activities; observe and track their progress.
- Document visits accurately and on time in FOX’s EMR system, following FOX’s Clinical Documentation standards.
- Stay connected with patients, POAs, and community referral sources, and help coordinate coverage when needed.
- Provide in-home and community-based care, including visits to patient homes and senior living communities.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team and supervising Physical Therapist.
