About The Position

The Merchandiser works independently in the Hallmark departments of assigned retail stores, showcasing organization and time-management skills, building retailer relationships, and representing Hallmark. The role works with store teams to optimize product placement and maintain inventory, and may support fellow merchandisers with seasonal resets and installations. Occasionally, the role may involve working with other companies’ products in the stores served.

The position is part-time, with a variable work-week schedule averaging 12–13 hours per week. The role involves regular merchandising service, seasonal holiday support, and occasional department resets, installations, and inventory support. Merchandisers use a Hallmark-provided mobile device for daily work and communication. Work takes place on retail selling floors and in back stockrooms, and may include evenings, weekends, holiday work, and additional hours during seasonal periods.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Be able to read, write, and understand English.
• Be able to grasp, pull, lift, and carry products up to 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
• Be able to operate a digital handheld device to open and read documents and interpret information.
• Have access to a Wi-Fi network and the internet.
• Have consistent transportation to travel to and between assigned stores as scheduled.
• Have availability during the week before and after major holidays, which may include weekends.
• Be available to support season changeovers, extended services, installations, and inventory support.

Responsibilities

• Restock, organize, and monitor Hallmark product inventory within and outside the Hallmark department at assigned retail stores.
• Maintain responsibility for the entire Hallmark product display at assigned stores.
• Use a mobile device to complete daily work, communicate with a supervisor, report time, provide feedback, and answer surveys related to required merchandising activities.
• Interact professionally and courteously with store employees, management, and customers.
• Collaborate with local store teams to optimize product placement and maintain inventory levels.
• Provide holiday support, including additional workdays and extended hours during seasonal periods; work on certain holidays when required.
• Support department resets and installations, including building or installing fixtures, relocating card departments and products, and resetting card sections.
• Support fellow merchandisers in other territories as needed.
• Provide support for season changeovers, extended services, installations, and inventory.
