The Hallmark Merchandiser works independently in assigned retail stores to maintain and showcase Hallmark products and displays. The role involves collaborating with store teams, maintaining inventory and product placement, and supporting fellow merchandisers with seasonal resets and installations. Merchandisers may occasionally work with other companies’ products in the stores they service. The position includes day-to-day service in Hallmark departments at grocery, drug, department, and mass retail stores; additional work around holidays; and occasional department resets, fixture installations, and store remodel assignments. Hallmark provides a mobile device for work-related activities and paid training through live, hands-on instruction and virtual classroom training. The schedule is variable during the work week and averages up to 13 hours per week. Availability before and after major holidays, including possible weekends, is required, as is availability for season changeovers, extended service, installations, and inventory support. The work is physically demanding and takes place on retail selling floors and in back stockrooms. The role requires frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of items up to 30 pounds and occasional handling of items up to 50 pounds, along with standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, and potentially climbing stairs and step ladders. Starting pay is $16.00–$18.00 per hour, depending on skills and experience. Eligible employees receive annual pay increases. Employees scheduled for fewer than 30 hours per week have access to voluntary benefits, including dental, vision, critical illness, accident insurance, hospital indemnity, and minimum essential coverage for preventive care.
