About The Position

As a part-time Merchandiser, you independently service Hallmark departments in retail stores, including grocery, drug, department, and mass retailers. You organize, restock, and monitor Hallmark inventory and displays, work with store teams to optimize product placement, and communicate with your supervisor using a Hallmark-provided mobile device. You may also support other team members and, on occasion, work with other companies’ products in the stores you service.

The schedule varies during the work week and averages 8–16 hours per week. The role includes additional days and extended hours around major holidays, and work on certain holidays may be required. Seasonal changeovers, installations, inventory support, and department resets may involve evenings or weekends. Remodel assignments are typically communicated two weeks in advance. Paid training includes live, hands-on instruction and virtual classroom training.

The work takes place on retail selling floors and in back stockrooms and is physically demanding. Employees must frequently push, pull, lift, and carry cartons, merchandise, and display fixtures weighing up to 30 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds. The role also involves kneeling, squatting, walking, and standing, and may require climbing stairs and step ladders.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• Able to read, write, and understand English.
• Able to frequently grasp, pull, lift, and carry products up to 30 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
• Able to operate a digital handheld device to open and read documents and interpret information.
• Access to a Wi-Fi network and the internet.
• Consistent transportation to travel to and between assigned stores as scheduled.
• Availability during the week before and after major holidays, potentially including weekends, and availability to support season changeovers, extended services, installations, and inventory support.

Responsibilities

• Service Hallmark departments in assigned retail stores.
• Restock, organize, and monitor Hallmark product inventory within and outside the Hallmark department.
• Maintain responsibility for the entire Hallmark product display at assigned stores.
• Collaborate with local store teams to optimize product placement and maintain inventory levels.
• Use a Hallmark-provided mobile device for day-to-day work, supervisor communication, time reporting, feedback, surveys, and merchandising activities.
• Interact professionally and courteously with store employees, management, and customers.
• Support seasonal resets, installations, extended services, and inventory support as needed.
• Participate in department resets, including building and installing Hallmark fixtures, relocating card departments and products, and resetting card sections.
• Support fellow merchandisers in other territories as needed.
• Work additional days or extended hours around holidays, and potentially on certain holidays or during evening and weekend remodel assignments.
