About The Position

JCPenney Salon is hiring a Hair Stylist to provide professional styling services and help deliver a superior client experience. The stylist determines each client's needs and provides services including current haircuts, finishing, and chemical services. The role calls for building a client base, partnering with salon team members, and participating in an ongoing learning environment. Commission varies by credential level, sales, and productivity, with Designer, Senior Designer, and Master Designer levels.

Requirements

• Maintain a current cosmetology license in the state where applying.
• Provide professional styling services.
• Be self-motivated and able to build a client base.
• Ability to partner with salon team members and demonstrate flexibility.
• Willingness to participate in a learning environment.
• Passion for the beauty industry and strong people skills.
• Demonstrate problem-solving and sound decision-making, accountability, positive and respectful relationship-building, and energy and urgency.

Responsibilities

• Determine clients’ needs and provide professional styling services, including haircuts, finishing, and chemical services.
• Build a client base and respond to clients’ expectations by listening and interacting.
• Partner with salon team members.
• Deliver a strong customer experience and take accountability for work and outcomes.
• Work efficiently and effectively to support sales, profit, and customer service.
• Look for ways to improve the customer experience and participate in learning and training.
