About The Position
The Guitar Technician (Luthier) provides maintenance and repair services for customer-owned instruments and assists with maintaining specific store inventory. The role helps build business by delivering a positive customer experience and high-quality repair work. Guitar Center encourages employees to develop their individual musical interests and offers gig leave for musician employees to take time off to perform or tour and return to their jobs afterward. Successful Repair Technicians demonstrate customer focus, initiative, and an ability to learn product, store operations, sales, and leadership skills. They work through Guitar Center’s certification program to gain a foundational understanding of products and sales techniques, and may train others by communicating information and techniques effectively. Requirements
- Skilled understanding of guitar repair.
- Ability to provide excellent customer service and connect meaningfully with customers.
- Ability to identify opportunities and issues, follow through on work, learn quickly, and take initiative.
- Ability to effectively train learners and communicate information and techniques so they are retained.
- Ability to work through Guitar Center’s certification program to gain a base understanding of products and sales techniques.

Responsibilities
