About The Position

WithCoverage is seeking Growth Leads to build and own key business verticals. This role is a General Manager position with full responsibility for a vertical's growth, revenue, relationships, and market presence. The goal is to make WithCoverage the dominant risk partner in the assigned category by closing significant accounts, building strategic partnerships, developing industry relationships, creating demand, and establishing the company's reputation. The ideal candidate is a builder and operator with experience in developing pipelines from scratch, managing the full sales cycle, and earning trust at the C-suite level. Growth Leads should be adept at closing major accounts, networking with industry leaders, building investor and operator relationships, public speaking, and developing scalable playbooks. The role involves end-to-end vertical ownership, managing the full deal cycle from initial contact to closing, developing senior relationships across various stakeholders, creating go-to-market strategies in collaboration with the Insurance Lead, and eventually hiring and developing a team.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in business development, growth, consulting, investing, partnerships, sales, or other relationship-driven roles with a track record of creating opportunities and driving commercial outcomes.
  • Experience building a pipeline from a cold start, utilizing outbound, referral, and category-driven motions.
  • Credibility at the C-suite and principal level, with experience earning trust from founders, CFOs, GPs, and operators.
  • Strong ability to package and explain complex, consultative sales without relying heavily on presentations.
  • High-ownership operator comfortable with ambiguity, fast-paced environments, and willing to put in the work to build a vertical from the ground up.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and executive presence.
  • Proven ability to build relationships through networks, partnerships, events, referrals, and community building.
  • An owner's mindset, excited by building a category rather than just managing a quota.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in consulting, venture capital, private equity, growth equity, strategic partnerships, or other commercially-oriented roles where relationship building and business development were critical.
  • Vertical depth in CPG, real estate, financial services (private equity, growth equity, venture capital), technology, manufacturing, professional services, or healthcare.

Responsibilities

  • Own a vertical end-to-end, including revenue growth, market presence, strategic relationships, pipeline generation, and long-term reputation.
  • Manage the full deal cycle: build target lists, drive outbound efforts, qualify leads, conduct discovery, structure programs with the underwriting team, and close deals.
  • Develop senior relationships with founders, CEOs, CFOs, GCs, industry associations, capital partners, and key connectors within the vertical.
  • Build and maintain relationships through conferences, events, dinners, operator communities, referral networks, and strategic partnerships.
  • Partner with the Insurance Lead to refine ICP, messaging, packaging, and the underwriting story.
  • Provide structured product and pricing feedback to improve the offering.
  • Influence positioning, partnerships, market strategy, and customer experience based on field learnings.
  • Hire and develop a team as the playbook proves successful, with the potential to grow into a GM or Head of Vertical role.
