Group Product Manager, IAP Advertising Performance

Moloco•Seattle, WA
•$179,600 - $264,000

About The Position

As Group Product Manager, IAP Advertising Performance, you will own product strategy and execution for systems that help advertisers acquire high-value users and drive in-app purchase outcomes at scale. You will lead the evolution of Moloco’s CARA domains that most directly determine IAP performance: Ad Recommendations, Bidding, Signals, and Campaign Automation. These capabilities operate as a compound system, with signals improving recommendations, recommendations sharpening bid economics, bidding generating outcome data, and campaign automation helping advertisers act on insights. This is a high-impact role at the center of Moloco Ads’ largest business. You will work with Engineering, Machine Learning, Data Science, Product, and Go-to-Market teams to translate advances in models, data, and platform infrastructure into measurable advertiser outcomes. The role combines strategic leadership for IAP advertising performance with deep technical partnership, rigorous prioritization across data, models, platform capabilities, and advertiser experiences, and end-to-end accountability for business outcomes across a broad, globally distributed organization. You will define where Moloco should invest, create a durable performance roadmap, and ensure work across bidding, recommendations, signal engineering, and campaign automation compounds into better advertiser results. The position addresses technically demanding, real-time performance challenges, including user intent, conversion probability, creative fit, auction economics, budget pacing, signal quality, sparse observations, and cold-start environments. In the first 90 days, you will build a detailed understanding of IAP performance and the bidding control tower, establish relationships with key partner teams, create a shared view of the performance backlog and metrics, and drive near-term improvements while defining longer-term strategy. Over time, you will make performance improvement a systematic discipline, deliver structural gains in advertiser performance, create a coherent product experience around advertiser objectives, and help ensure campaigns and signals improve the broader CARA system.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience, including significant product-management experience in ad tech, machine learning, marketplaces, optimization systems, or another technically complex domain.
  • Experience owning products end to end, from strategy and problem definition through roadmap, execution, launch, and measurable business impact.
  • Track record of turning complex machine-learning, data, or platform capabilities into customer and business outcomes.
  • Ability to reason deeply about performance systems, experimentation, metrics, and trade-offs with noisy, incomplete, or probabilistic data.
  • Comfort partnering closely with Engineering, Machine Learning, Data Science, and infrastructure teams on highly technical products.
  • Ability to move between executive-level strategy and implementation-level detail while maintaining understanding of the underlying system.
  • Strong product judgment and prioritization skills, including identifying investments likely to create durable performance gains.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives requiring alignment across multiple teams, competing priorities, and a globally distributed organization.
  • Clear communication skills and ability to build conviction with senior leaders, technical partners, and customer-facing teams.
  • Comfort with ambiguous problem spaces and ability to learn quickly, form hypotheses, and refine strategy through evidence.
  • Customer-outcome orientation and ability to connect platform and model investments to advertiser workflows, goals, and economics.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with mobile advertising, in-app purchase or app-growth economics, gaming, DSPs, ad exchanges, or real-time bidding.
  • Experience building bidding, recommendation, campaign-automation, identity, signal, measurement, or optimization products.
  • Experience with predicted lifetime value, event-based optimization, SKAN, value-based bidding, or mobile measurement ecosystems.
  • Experience leading products spanning platform capabilities and advertiser-facing workflows.
  • Experience with SDK-based products, publisher integrations, or signal-collection and quality systems.
  • An MBA or a degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, or a related technical or analytical field.

Responsibilities

  • Define the vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for IAP advertising performance across Ad Recommendations, Bidding, Signals, and Campaign Automation.
  • Own product strategy for improving IAP outcomes across Android and iOS, particularly in gaming and other high-value app categories.
  • Establish a systematic performance-management program by identifying high-impact opportunities, maintaining a prioritized backlog, defining success metrics, and driving issues to resolution.
  • Lead the evolution of the bidding control tower, including bid optimization, auction strategy, budget allocation, pacing, value optimization, and performance monitoring.
  • Translate advances in machine learning, data, and platform infrastructure into capabilities that improve advertiser scale, return on ad spend, cost per acquisition, and downstream user value.
  • Define how advertiser conversion events, mobile measurement partner data, publisher interactions, SDK activity, and bid-request signals are collected, evaluated, enriched, and used.
  • Partner with UA SDK and signal-engineering teams to improve signal quality, coverage, and timeliness for IAP models.
  • Shape recommendation systems that estimate user intent, conversion probability, and advertiser value in real time, including in sparse-signal and cold-start environments.
  • Define how campaign automation helps advertisers select objectives, configure campaigns, identify optimization opportunities, and act on performance insights.
  • Harmonize product choices across optimization objectives and measurement approaches, including event-based optimization, predicted lifetime value, SKAN, value multipliers, and related performance controls.
  • Design measurement frameworks and experimentation strategies that distinguish local model gains from durable advertiser and business outcomes.
  • Partner with Data Science, Machine Learning, and Engineering leaders to evaluate model quality, diagnose performance gaps, and balance short-term wins with structural improvements.
  • Align Product, Engineering, Science, Operations, and Go-to-Market teams on priorities, launch plans, operating mechanisms, and customer feedback loops.
  • Communicate strategy and progress to senior leadership, build conviction around investment decisions, and ensure accountability for results.
  • During the first 90 days, understand IAP performance and the bidding control tower, build partner relationships, establish a shared performance backlog and metrics, and drive focused near-term improvements while defining longer-term strategy.
  • Over time, make IAP performance improvement systematic and measurable; deliver structural advertiser-performance gains; create a coherent product experience around advertiser objectives; and improve the broader CARA system through better campaign data and signals.
