YMCA Middleburg Group Leader
About The Position
The YMCA of Metropolitan Washington is hiring Group Leaders for its School Age Child Care program at the YMCA at Middleburg. This part-time, school-year role offers an opportunity to support elementary- and middle-school-aged children in a collaborative before- and after-school environment. Group Leaders supervise children, create a safe and stimulating setting, and lead activities that support social-emotional and academic growth. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with before-care hours from 6:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. and/or after-care hours from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Compensation is $15 per hour.
Requirements
- Experience working with elementary- to middle-school-aged children in a school or childcare setting.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Strong interpersonal and behavior management skills.
- CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain it.

- Relevant coursework or degree.
- Experience fostering an environment for children of all abilities.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage school-age children in recreational, academic, and enrichment activities.
- Create a safe and stimulating environment for all participants.
- Plan and implement daily lessons and activities that support social-emotional and academic growth.
- Provide guidance and positive behavior support.
- Maintain communication with families and program staff.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times.
