About The Position
The Group Home Manager at The Arc of Somerset County manages all operations and activities of a residential group home. The position includes supervising staff, serving as an agency and community liaison, directing resident training and programming, and facilitating family support. The role is based in Somerset County and is performed in person.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least one year of experience providing direct services to people with developmental disabilities.
- At least one year of staff supervisory experience in a disability service provision setting.
- Experience in a community residential setting.
- Valid New Jersey, New York, or Pennsylvania driver's license.
Responsibilities
- Manage all operations and activities of the residence.
- Supervise staff and oversee staff performance management, including performance reviews, development plans, and disciplinary actions.
- Act as a liaison, advocate, and coordinator for consumer involvement in support groups, self-advocacy, vocational programming, transportation, integrated community activities, recreation, and independent living skills.
- Foster supportive communication with consumers, families, the Division of Developmental Disabilities, the Bureau of Guardianship Services, and other community organizations and agencies.
- Oversee consumer medical, medication, and health issues.
- Ensure operational practices align with Division of Developmental Disabilities standards.
- Ensure required daily, bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports are completed and submitted on schedule.
- Coordinate program financial procedures, including monitoring utility use in accordance with agency and Division of Developmental Disabilities policies.
- Oversee maintenance of the physical plant and vehicles, including cleanliness, décor, safety, emergency situations, preventive maintenance, and OSHA compliance.
- Perform other duties required by the position or requested by the supervisor.
