About The Position

The Groundskeeper performs labor-intensive groundskeeping and related tasks in an industrial setting under the direction of a supervisor or foreman. The role includes maintaining lawns and landscaping, cleaning walkways and job sites, applying fertilizer, watering plants, and performing minor equipment repairs. The Groundskeeper may use hand and power tools and may assist other craft workers with site preparation and other assigned duties. Work may take place in industrial and construction environments, with exposure to weather conditions, temperature extremes, noise, dust, fumes, moving equipment, vibration, and other site-specific hazards. Employees must use required personal protective equipment and meet applicable customer, site, regulatory, medical, and fitness-for-duty requirements. The position requires consistent attention to safety, quality, and productivity.

Requirements

No minimum education requirements.
Valid driver's license.

Ability to communicate orally and in writing and understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions.
Ability to perform the listed physical activities, including sitting, standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, and using hands and fingers.
Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work at elevations, on uneven surfaces, or in confined spaces when required.
Ability to read, comprehend, and follow safety procedures, work instructions, and company policies; exercise sound judgment; solve problems; maintain attention to detail; manage stress; and adapt to changing priorities.
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment and meet applicable customer, site, regulatory, medical, and fitness-for-duty requirements.

Nice To Haves

At least 6 months of experience in an industrial setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor.
Maintain a clean job site by picking up tools and equipment and securing the site each day to eliminate potential hazards.
Cut lawns using hand, power, or riding mowers and trim and edge around walkways, flower beds, and walls.
Plant flowers, grass, shrubs, and bushes.
Apply fertilizer and water plants and grass as needed.
Sweep walkways and remove debris.
Trim shrubs, pull weeds, and rake, mulch, and prune grounds as needed.
Perform minor repairs and maintenance on groundskeeping equipment.
Use equipment and tools properly and safely, and follow written and oral instructions.
Work independently and complete daily activities according to the work schedule.
Meet attendance requirements with dependability and consistency.
Assist other craft workers and perform other assigned duties.
