Groundskeeper – Austin Industrial - (Corpus Christi, TX)
About The Position
The Groundskeeper performs labor-intensive tasks in an industrial setting under the direction of a supervisor or foreman. Work may include operating hand and power tools; cleaning and preparing sites; planting flowers, grass, shrubs, and bushes; digging trenches; supporting excavation sides; erecting scaffolding; removing rubble, debris, and waste; and assisting other craft workers. The role also involves routine grounds maintenance, equipment upkeep, and other assigned duties. The position requires a commitment to safety, quality, and productivity, and may be performed in industrial and construction environments with site-specific hazards.
Requirements
- No minimum education requirements.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States; the company cannot sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including sitting, standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, and using hands and fingers.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds when required.
- Ability to work at elevations, on uneven surfaces, or in confined spaces when required.
- Sufficient visual, hearing, communication, and motor skills to safely perform job responsibilities.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and follow safety procedures, work instructions, and company policies; exercise sound judgment; solve problems; maintain attention to detail; manage stress; and adapt to changing priorities.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment and meet applicable customer, site, regulatory, medical, and fitness-for-duty requirements.

Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor.
- Keep the job site clean, pick up tools and equipment, and secure the site each day to eliminate potential hazards.
- Use equipment, materials, and supplies appropriately in an industrial setting.
- Mow lawns using hand, power, or riding mowers; trim and edge around walks, flower beds, and walls.
- Plant flowers, grass, shrubs, and bushes.
- Apply fertilizer.
- Sweep walkways and clear debris.
- Trim shrubs and pull weeds.
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance on groundskeeping equipment.
- Rake, mulch, and prune grounds as needed.
- Water plants and grass as needed.
- Work independently and complete daily activities according to schedule.
- Communicate orally and in writing; understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions.
- Use equipment and tools properly and safely.
- Meet the attendance schedule dependably and consistently.
- Assist other craft workers and perform other duties as assigned.
