About The Position

The Groundskeeper provides property, building, and grounds maintenance to keep the distillery grounds and public buildings prepared to high standards and aesthetically maintained. The role supports operations, events, visitors, and guests through grounds and property upkeep, including gardening, plant and lawn care using horticulturally correct practices and principles. The Groundskeeper also supports snow and ice removal, events, and Visitor Center needs as assigned, while following safety rules and maintaining tools and equipment.

Requirements

• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of distillery operations.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time.
• Ability to operate industrial and grounds equipment as required.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Knowledge of gardening techniques, tools, and products.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds without assistance as required.
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, squat, and perform repetitive motions.
• Good vision and manual dexterity.
• Ability to climb and work at high elevations.
• Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
• Experience with, or ability to learn, the required tasks.
• Ability to learn horticultural principles and practices.

Nice To Haves

• Education and/or experience in horticulture or landscape maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety rules, regulations, and policies, and report near misses or hazards.
• Maintain a safe work environment through proper care of tools and equipment.
• Maintain garden, plant, and lawn areas using appropriate horticultural practices, including mowing, trimming, pruning, bed maintenance, mulching, seeding, fertilizing, soil amendments, and landscape-area leaf removal.
• Safely operate tools and motorized equipment needed for the role.
• Prioritize and manage competing tasks in an evolving work environment.
• Complete and submit daily job sheets with job status and hours worked.
• Support Homeplace and Operations with snow and ice removal, grounds and property maintenance, and event and Visitor Center support.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the company’s vision, mission, objectives, and values.
