About The Position

Eilan Hotel and Spa in San Antonio, Texas, is hiring a full-time Grill Cook. As a Cook, you will perform culinary duties and maintain a clean, organized, and professional work area. The role involves preparing and stocking food according to specifications, maintaining food storage and kitchen areas in accordance with health requirements, and assisting with stewarding and inventory tasks. Team members must be able to adapt to various shifts, including weekends and holidays; the schedule is provided upon hire.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of kitchen experience.
• High school diploma.
• Ability to complete work orders, balance multiple tasks, take direction, prioritize assignments, and complete tasks.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food according to specifications and stock food items.
• Keep the kitchen and all work areas clean, organized, and professional.
• Ensure food areas are clean and food is stored properly at the end of each shift according to health specifications.
• Ticket and date food items with the employee's name to ensure freshness, and account for stocked items upon receipt.
• Wash work areas, refrigerators, utensils, pots, pans, kitchen utensils, serving bowls, serving dishes, and kitchen equipment.
• Break down and move trash and boxes to their proper areas.
• Stock food in coolers and on appropriate shelves to meet Department of Health regulations.
• Record and report food lost through spoilage or overproduction.
• Assist with inventory when necessary, especially for high-cost items.
• Maintain a sanitary, organized, and safe kitchen working area.
