About The Position

The Greeter performs customer-service and front-end activities, including welcoming customers, handling merchandise with care, providing information and directions, distributing promotional materials, and supporting other business needs. Greeters are expected to be friendly and outgoing and provide an exceptional experience that helps every guest feel welcomed and appreciated.

The role also involves promoting store programs, maintaining a professional appearance in accordance with the dress code, processing merchandise returns, checking in vendor representatives, and informing customers about store events, sales, and promotions. Greeters help keep the entrance and surrounding work area clean, orderly, and safe. For customer firearm or weapon check-in, the Greeter notifies an appropriately trained and designated employee; Greeters must never accept, possess, or handle firearms while performing their duties.

The position works under general supervision using established procedures, with occasional independent judgment to complete assignments and make recommendations about work procedures, policies, and practices. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a customer-service environment.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to new processes and procedures.
• Self-motivation and initiative while working unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers promptly, warmly, and in an outgoing manner as they enter the store.
• Promote programs such as CLUB Membership (in the US), VOC, and In-Store Pickup.
• Present a professional image by following the dress code, wearing the required logo shirt and visible name badge, and using welcoming body language.
• Check in customer merchandise for return.
• Check in vendor representatives, complete visitor log information, and control visitor badges.
• Stay informed about store events and tell customers about event details, sales, and promotions.
• Distribute promotional materials supporting special events.
• Keep the entryway and surrounding work area clean, tidy, and safe for customers and Outfitters.
• Notify an appropriately trained and designated Outfitter to complete customer firearm or weapon check-in under company SOP; do not accept, possess, or handle firearms.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
