Grain Elevator Operator - 1st Shift
About The Position
Bartlett is hiring a Grain Elevator Operator in St. Joseph, Missouri. This hands-on role involves receiving, storing, handling, drying, blending, and loading bulk grain commodities such as wheat, corn, and soybeans. Operators monitor stored grain conditions and maintain and clean grain facilities and equipment to support a safe working environment. Team members are cross-trained to perform a variety of tasks. The position uses grain-handling equipment, mainly conveyors and legs. The schedule is first shift, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with ample overtime, including weekends. Compensation starts at $21 per hour, and overtime is paid at 1.5 times the hourly rate.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Reliable transportation.
- For safety reasons, be able to read, write, understand, and follow written and/or verbal instructions in English.
- Be available to work overtime and weekends.
- Maintain a professional demeanor, including safety-consciousness, quality job performance, cleanliness, and verbal communication.
- Pass a criminal background check.
- Be able to work in tight and confined spaces and at heights.
- Frequently lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds and occasionally more.
- Be able to ascend and descend ladders.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Responsibilities
