About The Position

UPMC Jameson is seeking graduating nursing students from Spring 2027 for their Graduate Nurse Rotational Program (GNRP). This full-time Professional Staff Nurse position involves rotating through various hospital units, including the Critical Care Unit and Emergency Department, for an 11-month track. The program aims to provide valuable and varied experience, mentorship from experienced nurses, and preceptors for each rotation, allowing participants to explore different areas and find their ideal nursing specialty within UPMC. The Professional Staff Nurse role involves providing highly competent patient care, demonstrating empathy, utilizing independent judgment, and collaborating with physicians and other healthcare providers to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Nurses are expected to set standards for nursing care quality and exemplify a commitment to the community and the profession.

Requirements

  • Graduating from nursing school in Spring 2027.
  • Eligible for State Board Licensure and successfully pass the examination before the program start date OR must have a Temporary Practice Permit and commit to taking the NCLEX examination within 4 months of hire.
  • Current Pennsylvania licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse required prior to program start date OR must have a Temporary Practice Permit and commit to taking the NCLEX examination with 4 months of hire.
  • CPR or BLS required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
